Village of Harrison Completes a Five-Year Economic Development Strategic Plan.

The Village of Harrison desires to diversify its tax base from primarily residential to a better mix of commercial, industrial, retail and office land uses along with existing residential. In November 2023, the Village retained Redevelopment Resources, an economic development agency, to develop a five-year economic development strategic plan.

The Village of Harrison is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Fox Valley. Harrison’s estimated population in 2023 was 15,090 an approximate 22% increase over the 2020 population. The estimated median household income of the village is $113,004 while comparable communities have median household incomes of $62,989 (Kimberly) and $76,426 (Kaukauna). Nearly 72% of the households in the village earn more than $75,000 per year.

The plan identified that the median home value in the village is $269,975. These are the highest-valued homes in the area which ranges from $136,672 (Hilbert) to $216,148 (Kaukauna). “The plan identifies nine goals and objectives the village should consider over the next five years. Also included is the unmet visitor demand from Pacer.ai. There are gaps in demands in department stores, lawn and garden equipment and supply stores, Automobile dealers, to name of a few. From the Village survey conducted earlier this missing retail/commercial development aligns with the unmet visitor demand listed below” stated Chad Pelishek, assistant village manager.

Pelishek added “Given the large percentage of land available in the Village, Agri-tourism is recommended to be considered. Agri-tourism preserves the rural character of the village while providing economic development through farm-based developments.” The plan has identified several commercial ready real estate options available in the Village.
